We fell in love with Megan Lara‘s Alphonse Mucha-inspired character designs when we saw her Nintendo heroines triptych, which was hugely popular online – so we have been thrilled to have her designing for us in our Marvel shop, creating some truly inspired looks for our favorite comics heroes!  Her one-off Deadpool art nouveau piece was a real hit with his die-hard fans… and in the spirit of her first triptych, we are proud to announce a contest centered around Megan’s beautiful women of the X-Men universe!

The Phoenix Jean Grey design, in all its fiery glory, has been available on the site for a few weeks now. We’ve also just added Megan’s second X-Men lady, the indisputably bad-ass Mystique!  Both of these tees are available now; there is also a third art nouveau X-Men gal currently in the works and will complete this set, so what we’d like is for you, our friends and customers, to take your best guess. Who is it going to be?! Remember, it’s definitely an X-Men character (not someone from another Marvel title), and it’s definitely a lady… but that’s all we can say.

Here at Mighty Fine, we like to keep an eye on the latest trends in internet humor. (Or the OMG LULZ, if you will.)  Having a healthy appreciation for comic book geekery, as many of you do, we found the recent rounds of “superhero hipster” memes to be pretty darn hilarious. Still, it got us to thinking… what if saving the world was actually the job of hipsters who also had a full slate of shopping for skinny jeans and arguing about the relative worth of Wilco’s last album?
