You know, for a 60-year-old Charlie Brown still looks pretty darn good. Of course, he’s never had much hair to worry about losing, so well done Charlie! Seriously, though, we’d like to congratulate Peanuts on its 60th anniversary tomorrow! Here’s a look back to October 2, 1950 and the very first Peanuts comic strip. (Who’s that cranky little boy, anyway? And where’s the trademark stripe on Charlie Brown’s shirt?)
Trivia facts!: Snoopy debuted in the third Peanuts strip, and didn’t get a name until a little over a month later.
You can celebrate Peanuts‘ anniversary by sporting some of Mighty Fine’s classic Peanuts shirts, as well as some of our brand-new designs; we’ve got Snoopy’s alter-ego Joe Cool in a tribute to the “Deal With It!” internet meme, as well as Snoopy and Woodstock’s own nod to Twitter in our featured batch of social networking-themed tees.
